Hi my name’s Andrew! 

I founded Bengel Electric in October 2021. Building and creating have always been a part of my life. I found solace in art class and in high school the wood, leather, and metal shops were home to me. Before graduating high school I joined an electrical pre-apprenticeship program. I fell in love with electrical work’s technical intricacies in the large scale environment of construction. The sparks in my brain were firing and I was ready for more!

  In 1998 I entered an apprenticeship program. After 5 years of hard work, I earned my journeyman’s license. By 2007 I had my master electrician’s license in the state of Alabama. I built a local electrical business and led the company for three years before returning to my family’s home state of Wisconsin. Interested in furthering my skills I started studying at the Fox Valley Technical College and graduated with an Associates of Electrical Engineering Technology in 2012. While I was still a student I started working with Mercury Marine’s Research and Development Team. There I worked on testing, and developing electronic systems and components for the boating industry.

It was such a joy to work on the water and with ship development while in the Midwest. My love for marine life and science continued and brought me back to Alabama. I worked for three years at General Dynamics as a Sea Frame Engineer. I tested electrical systems on LCS ships, ensuring their functionality before selling to the US Navy. 

From 2016-2021 I worked with several local and online businesses to develop their administrative, marketing, social media, customer service, and bookkeeping services. This time period allowed me to sharpen my business and communication skills. By 2021 I was ready to start Bengel Electric with a newfound commitment to my community, craft, and business. By 2023 I had won the Best in Baldwin award, an affirmation of the hard work and dedication I have to my people.

My diverse and expansive background equips me with the knowledge and tools to handle complex situations. I have been incredibly grateful to work with and lead apprenticeships for talented and bright electricians. My team and I have had the honor of serving 100’s of customers, contractors, industry professionals and community members.

As reflected in my story, continual learning is a core pillar to my business and craft. I am always researching courses, electrical code updates, and the newest technology in the field to bring the safest, freshest, and most efficient service to my community.
